Dreamer, Nothing but a Dreamer...

Snow day! We are having what the weather personalities call a "weather system". All scheduled activities cancelled today. Nothing to do but bake little baby cinnamon rolls for all, and, of course, to dream.

Now, what does one dream of when the temperature is plummeting and one's garden looks like this?

This.

Dear Summer, I have the fondest memories of our time together last year. Thinking of you often.

We're dreaming of summer in this latitude too.

I have that same dream, fueled by lots of time spent browsing seed/plant catalogs. I dream of warmth and summer but wake to wind and cold. If summer were year round, would I love it as much??

Take comfort in Shelley's words "If winter comes, can spring be far behind?" and enjoy nibbling on those delicous sounding cinammon rolls whilst you dream :)

Laurrie: the nice thing about summer dreaming is that in the garden of our mind’s eye the temperature is always perfect and there are no weeds!

TS: Thank goodness for those seed catologues, I have at least three out and about at all times. I do also enjoy having four seasons, most days. :)

Anna: The days are getting a little tiny bit longer already so I am given to hope. (Even though the temperature is predicted to be going down another 10 degrees this week!)

Marguerite: Aren’t lilacs, scenting the entire neighbourhood, just the nicest welcome to summer!

Your photo of the lilac looks like it came out of a dream. I can't think of anything better than cinnamon rolls and dreaming of summer while it's snowing outside.

Sweetbay, it reminds me of the magical Midsummer Night's Dream. :)
I baked cookies today. It better get nice soon or bread pudding may be next!

Beautiful lilac picture! I am also snowed in, and intended to bake cinnamon buns, but haven't yet. I hope things warm up soon - for both of us!

Rebecca, there is nothing like the scent of cinnamon to make the house cosy and to forget about all the shovelling! Lol Hang in there, another week and I think we will see a major turn for the better. I am already seeing so much more light on my commute home; it's very promising. :)

Oh, Ms. S, a balmy morning in Edmonton... we woke to similar temperatures in Vermont last week. And, I too have been dreaming of spring. Let me know what time I should be there for those cinnamon rolls... ; )

Liisa, today is the first "not painfully cold" day in Edmonton in weeks (feels like months!). Dare I go outside again? :)

ps. come by anytime for cinnamon buns. ;)

brrrrrr! can't believe your temps!
We're dreary here (endless days of grey and rainy), but not nearly so cold. Despite that, I too have the garden and seed catalogs close at hand and waiting for some clear and mild breaks to make some headway out there!
