Is it a silver frosting to remind us of the beauty and strength of simple form?
Is it a soft carpet that muffles us and makes the world hushed and new?
Or is it something that the twitterers on the #yegtraffic feed curse and howl at? It can be all of that. We can love it or hate it, but remember, here in the Great White North, it is here to stay - for a few months yet. So, whatever you may call it, might as well say it with a happy face.
[Creation of gorgeous snowman with carrot nose compliments of the littlest artist in the house, my preschooler] :)
Don't you think he kinda looks like Ed Asner? lol

Ha! Ed Asner indeed. I'm a little off snow after getting dumped with 18 inches in late October, but your fairy dusting is nice. And you're right... it will be here to stay for a few months!
So soon! Not sure whether it's real fairy dust but there's always something magical about the first snowfall :) Over here we had our first frost just over a week ago and are waiting to see whether this winter will be as harsh as the last one.
Enough snow even for a snowman! hmm, he does have a familiar face. oh I know I have said this every year since we've moved to a colder climate but I'm just not ready yet. Winter will never be my favourite season.
Wow..such magical snow..love the snowman..we don't have any yet here..so strange we usually do by now...! Great photos..and always fun visiting your realm!

Snow is all of the above for sure. :) The snowman does indeed look like Ed Asner!
It is beautiful, isn't it? I'm glad Ed is happy. :) Stay warm!
I love it and cannot wait until we get our first dusting x
yes, I see the resemblance!
What a lovely creation! We have had some of the white stuff too, but not suitable for a snowman yet - much to the dismay of the little ones!
Winters first snow...so beautiful and peaceful. Love the photo with the trees!
