Happy Canada Day!

My new (and first) red rose, Cuthbert Grant, opened this morning before it started to pour outside.

This photo (taken, edited & posted with my phone) doesn't really capture the gorgeous cherry red velvet of the rose, however, it does give you some idea of the shape.

Now that the rain has briefly stopped it's back to gardening for this girl! xo

Post Happy Canada Day to you : )
That rose looks wonderful and with red ones they always look better in person than in pictures I find .. the red is so intense you miss the details in structure .. but this looks like a beauty all the same !
PS ... please send some rain to us ??? LOL

Gorgeous rose! I ended up cutting off most of my roses to help the plants survive the heat. They don't look nearly as fresh and happy as yours.

Happy Canada Day to you too! It's hard to capture red flowers with any camera I find. There's a shine to them that just doesn't photograph well. Even so it's clear that this is a gorgeous rose. Happy gardening.

Your red (and white) roses are lovely! I've always heard that it's hard to truly capture an image of a red rose. Great to hear things are good with you!!

Joy, Please have some of our rain! The only thing I am loving about it right now is that it held off until after the long weekend and is supposed to stop before the coming weekend. Fingers crossed!

Jen, Thank you! I find both red and white very challenging to photograph. Red doesn't read true and it takes over, while white is almost impossible to not overexpose. But fun trying! :)

Diane, Thank you! I am even enjoying gardening in the rain, mostly!

Casa Mariposa, Oh, that does make me sad. I hope cooler days are coming! :)

Marguerite, I am finding I love red lately. I will try to keep it to the front though as it really does steal the show.

Sweetbay, It's all good! I hope the heat your way offers some respite soon. I would love to send a rain cloud or two...! :)

Ms S girl thank you for dropping by again and your comment on my logo : )
The heat wave is still here and it is time yet again to get the hose out and drag it around to quench my poor garden babies .. BIG sigh ! LOL
Hope all is well over in your world!
