It's raining...It's snowing....

...At least my garden's growing!

Yes, the weather is terrible (-5c tonight!), but my garden is showing signs of life nonetheless. I am so grateful for all the bulbs we planted last fall. Most of them are still little green stems--brave souls--and determined.

Most exciting for me, however, is that teeny deep red spot in the bottom right photo. That, my friends, is one of the five hellebores I planted last summer---wooooo hoooo!!!

If I jump up and down and pump my fist in the air like I'm at a big-hair band concert, you will know I have FLOWERS. Oh, and I will publish photos, of course (of the plant, that is! ) :)

Wishing you all the best with your spring dreams.

Can't believe that you are still getting snow :( At least though there are cheering signs of life - look forward to seeing that hellebore open. Mine are now setting seed :)

OMG ! girl I so hope by now .. May 12th ... that the weather is stable and you are able to get in the garden and enjoy what is growing !
Summer has burst forth here ... yes I am overwhelmed by all the chores I have to get done before I can sit back and enjoy my garden for a bit.
I am afraid I have created a MONSTER that is draining the life out of me .. and then I go all soft and see how gorgeous the plants are ... talk about a love hate relationship? LOL
Ahhh ... such is life ?
Joy : )

hang on in there and soon that red dot will be the most beautiful flower you ever did see ! You must be longing for the feel of the sun on your back ! We started well (North UK), but clearly peaked too soon, as we are back to gardening in wellingtons, in between torrential bursts of cold rain !!

I do hope the weather has improved for since this post. But I know how spring has gone in my corner of the world and it is COLD. A very very slow start this year. But when there's hellebores coming it makes it all bearable, right? ;-)

Those late spring snowstorms really make you appreciate the hardier spring plants. Your Puschkinia and Galanthus seem to be taking the Edmonton spring in their stride. By now your Helleborus must be blooming. Happy spring.
