Here comes the sun...and it's alright...

The solstice has passed and we turn again towards the light. So thankful. My daydreams are filled with visions from seed and plant catalogues. I bet yours are too!

My lovely hubs gave me three hydroponically grown white hyacinths for Christmas. Better than Faberge eggs, I say. They are from a local grower and were ready for indoor forcing. Well, this morning I got up in the dark to a glimpse of white shimmering in the dining room. Lo and behold, it is a sign of life, of hope, of the returning light. If I get close there is the promise of scent that will soon fill my house.

And so I will wait. Wait for spring, wait for green, wait for this year's garden to emerge. In the meantime, I have the most delightful visitors to sweeten my days.

oh yes, I know that feeling having been raised and lived in Edmonton over 40 years and then moving up north after that. And the heavenly scent of hyacinth in the home is divine! Curl up and enjoy the seed catalogues.

hello Ms. S girl and what a treat those hyacinths are !
I wish I could do them as well but Garden PA has allergy issues with the scent. What a pretty picture you took of them .. I am such a "white" fan especially shining in the dark .. a shimmer really .. so special !
Fingers crossed for a decent Spring !!
Joy : )

You will have me singing a certain song for the rest of the day. That hyacinth looks like a glowing candle and I can just imagine the perfume :) Enjoy the catalogues in this waiting time.

Diane, Waiting can be the hardest part! I'm finally discovering the joy of spring bulbs both inside and out.

Joy, I too am weak-kneed for white. Not sure if it is true that white flowers carry more scent--but they sure are sweet!

Anna, That is such a light-spirited song--I love it! :)
