A fresh flush of flowers on my Morden Snow Beauty. Only this time it is not alone. Behind it is a Hydrangea paniculata 'Limelight' and the Spirea japonica 'Shirobana', a lovely spirea whose flowers start off dark pink and fade through varying shades of pink and white. These shrubs are part of a larger bed with repeated plantings of these and other shrubs as well as a few trees.
This is where we start to feel like it has been like this forever - only screen doors between us and the universe. Skirts and shorts, flowered blouses, sandals by the back door, hair swept up in a ponytail, and, in my case, a few new freckles across the nose. :)
I'll be mostly offline for the next little bit, so hoping you are enjoying the richness of the season.

There was a touch of Autumn in the wind today. Enjoy the remainder of your summer!
'richness of the season' is such a perfect way to describe August in the garden. Everything is blooming and lush, vegetables practically throwing themselves at you. Just so sad that it is followed by that other season I can't bear to name.
August can indeed be rich, but down here a little further south it is also blowsy and starting to look tired. Not like the US deep south in stupefying heat, but in southern New England August is sleepy, getting bored with itself, and wanting autumn.
What a stunning picture, and your new additions are perfect. I'm glad you added a limelight, I know you've wanted one for some time. Enjoy your break. :)
What a beautiful rose. I know what you mean about this time of year. How can we not love August? Take care. We'll see you when you get back.
An exquisite rose. Hope that August continues to treat you gently :)
What a beautiful picture. It sounds like you are having perfect August weather. :)
What a gorgeous image!! I wish you could have a lot more summer than winter!
Hi All, thanks for your comments. Summer is, as most of you may know, fleeting in this parts, and therefore all the more precious. To totally mix my metaphors, "time to make hay while the sun shines", or something. Anyway, have fun! :)
